Biography

Whether in the forest, intertidal or on the water, Glennie LeBaron is happiest outside. Her work and education have taken her around the world in many roles, but she consistently finds herself at the intersection of people and the environment. Working with an outdoor education program at Acadia National Park before transferring to Brown initiated an interest in science communication. Generous funding has enabled Glennie to pursue her love of field work, specifically to Alaska as a Ted Smith Fellow, working with a science and education non-profit and in New Hampshire with a SPRINT Award at a land trust. Since coming to Brown, she has been a part of The Witman Lab and spent summer 2022 in The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador conducting acoustic ecology research as a 2023 Voss Fellow. On campus Glennie student managed for BOLT a student backpacking orientation group. Contact Glennie if you have questions about finding cool jobs, transferring, balancing work and school, navigating support resources on campus (including bereavement at Brown) or simply want to go for a dog walk with her and Zuko (pictured above).
