Maximilian Conley

Maximilian Conley is interested in the environmental history of U.S. empire in the Pacific in the 19th century. More specifically, he's interested in the interplay between empire, capitalism, whales, and energy in the Pacific Ocean, and has been studying Nantucket's whaling and whale oil refining industries in the 18340s and 1840s. Conley is also interested in intersections between disability studies and environmental humanities.
