Institute at Brown for Environment and Society

A week of climate collaboration across Brown

Brown Climate Week, March 2–7, 2026, will spotlight Brown’s climate research, career exploration, and sustainability leadership through talks, conferences, networking events, and more.

From March 2–7,  the Institute at Brown for Environment & Society will serve as lead host for Brown Climate Week, a campus-wide invitation for all members of the Brown community to  explore how the University is advancing climate solutions and how everyone can play a role.

Throughout the week, community members will learn about the scope of climate, sustainability, and environmental work at Brown, from campus decarbonization efforts to emerging research on climate, health, and education to environmental justice in Rhode Island and beyond. The week also highlights pathways for life after Brown with a Climate Career Fair, an alumni panel, and opportunities for students to connect directly with potential employers.

Sustainable finance will also be a central focus, with full-day Banking on Nature and Future of Sustainable Investing conferences.Community-building events—including a screening The Day After Tomorrow—will create space to reflect, learn, and connect.

Everyone has a role to play in climate solutions. Climate Week is an invitation for the Brown community to explore how their skills, interests, and ideas can make a difference working together on campus and far beyond.

A community ready to turn ideas into action

Climate Week reflects rising demand for climate and sustainability programming at Brown. Across campus, participation in climate events, research initiatives, and career programs is growing and new initiatives—including IBES’ STEP Program (a three-year initiative to super-charge professional development for Brown students) and the newly launched Program in Sustainable Finance & Investing—are expanding student opportunities for internships, research, and career preparation.

Climate Week was created to connect climate and sustainability work already underway across Brown—in classrooms, labs, offices, and student organizations—and to bring these efforts into conversation across the campus community.
