IBES/STEP Internship Program
The STEP Program accelerates pathways for undergraduates pursuing careers in climate, sustainability and the environment.
The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society has partnered with environmental organizations to offer paid internship experiences (10 hours/week in the academic year) for Brown University undergraduate students. These awards allow students to explore career options and engage in experiential learning activities outside of the classroom. Cohorts of students begin each year in January, June and September.

IBES Extended Undergraduate Research Assistantships
In this new program, undergraduates are paired with faculty mentors to pursue paid multi-semester research opportunities, combining hands-on experience and professional development to prepare students for careers in climate, sustainability, and the environment.
Voss Fellows Program

The Voss Fellowship Program is the premier training and funding opportunity for undergraduates interested in environmental research at Brown University. Open to rising juniors and seniors in any concentration, the fellowship awards a large stipend and provides research funds to support independent projects. Students from fields in STEM, the social sciences, and the humanities who wish to pursue research that addresses climate, environmental, or sustainability challenges are encouraged to apply.
