Opportunities for Faculty
IBES Catalyst Research Awards
Applications for AY 2026–2027 are open from March 1 to May 1, 2026
IBES Core and Affiliate Faculty are encouraged to apply for funding to support intellectually rigorous, solutions-driven research that advances IBES’s 2023-2038 Strategic Plan. Specifically, we seek proposals that cross disciplinary boundaries, focus on environmental themes, and show potential for societal impacts including but not limited to network building, policy development, durable and equitable community partnerships, and pedagogical innovations in undergraduate education.
New for 2026: A separate pool of funding is available from the STEP program for projects that include meaningful participation of undergraduate students in climate, sustainability, and environmental research and/or focus on undergraduate-targeted environmental educational and training opportunities.
