Ligia A. Arguilez is a borderlands environmental (plant) historian whose work highlights the stories and cultural legacies of U.S.-Mexico border communities by centering people, place, and nature in the North American hot deserts. She applies diverse borderlands, environmental, and sensorial oral history methods to study the long intertwined histories of people and plants in colonized places.
