Biography
My overall research interests are in urban economics and spatial econometrics. However, recently I've been interested in standardizing the evaluation of environmental amenities by spatial difference-in-difference econometric methods and hedonic house price modeling. For example, many studies look at the effect of pollution on nearby housing prices before and after an industrial plant begins operation, and infer that because house prices decline, individuals' welfare also declines, but the implementation of these methods are not formalized to allow comparison on a consistent basis across studies.
