IBES Director Kim Cobb Delivers 2024 Family Weekend Keynote

The October 25 discussion highlighted opportunities for Brown students to engage in climate solutions and included an audience Q&A with President Christina Paxson.

In "Our Climate Future: Students as Changemakers," Professor Kim Cobb shared her optimism for stabilizing global temperatures by mid-century. She emphasized how Brown students, across all interests, can play a key role in climate solutions through their academics and community involvement. The keynote also featured a lively Q&A with President Paxson, where students and families explored the University’s commitment to climate action and education.

“ I am extremely optimistic, mostly because the work that we’re doing here at Brown is illustrative of the engagement of this institution, and our entire community in making solutions that are durable and equitable. ”
