Alexa Theodoropoulos '27
Biography
Alexa is a senior studying Environmental Science on the Justice and Health Track and an Independent Concentration in Literary and Multimedia Narrative Studies. She is happy to talk with students about the EJH track, interdisciplinary pathways through environmental sciences and studies, research opportunities, and navigating funding and academic programs across Brown. Alexa’s own interests have moved between the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, so she would be especially comfortable speaking with students who know they care about environmental issues but are still figuring out what disciplinary approach makes the most sense for them.
She has also explored multiple funding and research opportunities within and outside of Brown and can provide advice on navigating those programs. She served as a climate science intern at NASA in 2024 and has been a regular representative at various United Nations environmental negotiations over the years. She has also served as a planetary health advisor to the World Health Organization as a representative of Climate Cardinals, an organization seeking to make climate information accessible to non-English speakers. Finally, having pursued multiple academic pathways at Brown, including both a standard concentration and an Independent Concentration, Alexa can speak to students who are considering double concentrating or trying to connect interests that do not fit neatly within a single department. In her free time, she loves reviewing films and organizing karaokes!
