Biography

Mark is currently a General Partner at Costanoa Ventures, an early stage VC, where he focuses on enterprise software, fintech and education tech. He has invested in and is a board member at over a dozen tech companies. Previously, Mark co-founded two companies, Merced Systems and BabyCenter and managed those businesses for nearly 18 years. 

Mark's volunteer work includes serving as a Trustee at Lick Wilmerding High School in San Francisco, and he held former positions as a Trustee at the SF Friends School and a board member at the March of Dimes, where he was also Chair of the California Chapter. 

Mark graduated from Brown in 1987 and Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1993. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, Lisa Acree, three children and two dogs. He is a drummer in a Talking Heads Tribute Band and has played in bands throughout his life.
