Biography

Shailja Gangrade ("Shell-ja Gung-rah-day") is a postdoctoral research associate studying how marine ecosystem dynamics are influenced by human activities and climate-driven impacts, such as extreme weather events. Shailja’s interdisciplinary research involves using field observations of coastal and open ocean physics and biogeochemistry. She also works with students and community partners to develop community science and educational programs that address topics such as ocean warming, water quality, and marine food sources.
