Biography

Dr. Niles's interdisciplinary research focuses on advancing efforts to achieve sustainable food security and improve health, environmental, and rural livelihood outcomes in food systems, especially with marginalized communities. Her primary areas of research explore improving food security, nutrition and health outcomes during climate change and public health crises and increasing sustainable food production to reduce environmental and public health impacts. Her research is complemented by teaching in food, nutrition and environmental policy, and she has advised and mentored dozens of undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctorate fellows.
