IBES Extended Undergraduate Research Assistantships
Supporting multi-semester undergraduate research that builds skills, mentorship, and career readiness.
The IBES Extended Undergraduate Research Assistantships provide funding to support undergraduate participation in faculty-led research over two or more semesters. The program provides students with training to deepen their research and professional skills in preparation for a diversity of careers.
The program has two entry points:
Pathway 1 — Standard UTRA: for new research assistantships (RAs). Apply through the UTRA portal.
Pathway 2 — IBES Extended URA: for existing RAs (such as an UTRA or other demonstrated research collaboration between the faculty and student who then apply together). Application information below.
Keep your research going! Apply by May 5, 2026.
If you’re already part of an IBES faculty mentor-mentee pairing, apply for an additional semester through the EURA program. Summer and fall 2026 applications are due May 5.
