This March, Brown will launch its first-ever Climate Week—a campus-wide celebration of ideas, innovation, and action for a sustainable future.


Brown Climate Week is an open invitation for students, faculty, alumni, and community members to come together to explore how research, policy, and practice intersect to drive meaningful climate solutions.

Together, we’ll celebrate collaboration, spark new connections, and highlight Brown’s growing leadership in climate and sustainability.

The State of Decarbonization at Brown: Progress, Challenges, and What Comes Next

Featuring Stephen Porder, Acacia Professor of Ecology, Professor of Environment and Society & Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology and author of Elemental: How Five Elements Changed Earth’s Past

How is Brown progressing toward its net zero and sustainability goals—and what comes next? Join professor Stephen Porder for a conversation on Brown’s campus decarbonization efforts to date and the work ahead. This talk will highlight current initiatives, measurable progress, key challenges, and upcoming priorities as Brown advances its climate and energy commitments. The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A.

Brown's second annual Climate Career Fair provides students with a unique opportunity to connect with employers hiring students for climate-related jobs and internships and to meet with alumni to get guidance for identifying and navigating climate career pathways.

Whether you're seeking immediate opportunities or long-term career guidance, this fair is your gateway to exploring the exciting and impactful world of climate careers.

Climate and Health Research at SPH: Impact, Adaptation and Mitigation

Climate and the environment have direct and meaningful impacts on health. In a changing world with increasingly frequent extreme weather events, how will we manage the impacts on population health? How are we adapting? And can our responses to climate change also advance our health goals? 

Join us to learn about the School of Public Health's research efforts to study the impact of climate change on health, how to mitigate the effects, and what adaptations are most worthwhile.
