Founded in 2014, the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) is a thriving interdisciplinary institute for climate, sustainability, and environmental education and research, achieving national and international stature as one of the top programs of its kind. IBES’ goals over the next five years aim to build on this success by engaging and supporting its community of scholars, students, staff, alumni, and partners in advancing durable, scalable, and equitable solutions to the complex climate, sustainability, and environmental challenges of the 21st century.
