Cole Francis '26
Biography
Cole is a senior studying Environmental Sciences and Economics, who enjoys biking and eating delicious vegetarian food. As an economics concentrator, he is able to help those who are doubling concentrations understand the layout of credits and responsibilities within IBES. This past summer, he engaged in research at the University of Vermont centered around climate migration, political discourse, and real-life harm resulting from online forums.
Cole has experience taking many courses focused on equity, environmental justice, and urban planning, and he’s happy to guide others in choosing such classes. Additionally, he can discuss the process of transferring credits from Study Abroad and studying sustainability while in Amsterdam. Lastly, he would be happy to talk about being a person of color in the field of environmental sciences and support underrepresented groups in this space. As he continues his journey at Brown, he has been able to take advantage of environmentally-focused job fairs and conferences that have given me a better idea of the career fields available for concentrators.
