Institute at Brown for Environment and Society

I spent my first year at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) where I studied Business. I had always been drawn to sustainability, but UCI’s rigid requirements meant I couldn’t pursue multidisciplinary interests at the same time. Transferring to Brown during my sophomore year was driven by my curiosity to learn more about the interconnectedness of business and sustainability… and by my desire to take full advantage of the Open Curriculum! Brown gave me that freedom to explore Environmental Sciences and Studies alongside Business Economics, combining creativity with experiential learning which allowed me to approach complex, global challenges.

I am excited to share the pathways I discovered, answer questions I once had myself, and help new students see the possibilities within ENVS that they might not have imagined. It feels meaningful to give back to the same community that has shaped both my learning and my sense of purpose.
