Environmental Studies concentrators Bustos and Duncan awarded Royce Fellowships

Undergraduates Maria Camila Bustos '16 and Sophie Duncan '16 are among the most recent young scholars to be awarded distinguished Royce Fellowships. Recipients are granted a $4,000 stipend for their proposed research project and lifetime membership in the Society of Royce Fellows, a community of former awardees who have gone on to become globally accomplished leaders and innovators. The new Fellows were honored at a recent ceremony held at President Paxson's home and attended by benefactor Charles Royce '61.

Supported by their awards, Bustos and Duncan will spend their respective summers examining Colombia's progressive climate change policies and analyzing the impact that earthworm invasions have on plant diversity in forests.
