Jill Ouellette joins the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society after seven years as VIO Media Group’s finance and administrative manager. In that position, she provided ongoing administrative support to senior executives, driving organizational success through the management of daily operations and special projects.
Ouellette’s experience translates to her new role at IBES, where she will handle the administrative needs of faculty, staff, and students.
“The IBES community is lucky to have Jill as part of our administrative team,” remarked Kim Cobb, Lawrence and Barbara Margolis Director of IBES. “As the Institute continues to grow, Jill’s contributions will be critical for building a foundation of success, one of the core pillars of our five-year strategic plan.”
Before pursuing a career in administration, Ouellette worked as an air traffic controller for over a decade. This experience has served Ouellette well in office settings, training her to keep a big-picture mindset even in stressful situations.
“I am excited to be able to support the goals of IBES and connect to the wider community in meaningful ways,” Ouellette said of her new role. “This is an opportunity to help advance IBES’ efforts toward a more sustainable future.”
Ouellette assumed her position at IBES on April 29. She can be reached at jill_ouellette@brown.edu.
