Alexandra MacFarland is studying nitrogen deposition in the North Pacific Ocean. Specifically, she is analyzing ammonium isotopes of aerosol samples to help determine specific sources (natural vs anthropogenic) entering the ocean and the implications that would have to the biogeochemistry of the ocean.
