Alexie is an environmental social scientist with a background in community-based environmental management. She has a B.A. in International Development and Sustainability from McGill University, and a M.E.M. in Coastal Environmental Management from Duke University.

An RI native, Alexie is a Research Associate in Environment and Society at IBES, where she works on the Community-driven Coastal Climate Research and Solutions (3CRS) project.
