Biography
Allan Just's research investigates how better estimates of the quality of the air we breathe and the temperature in our neighborhoods reveal previously underestimated exposure disparities and health impacts.
Analyzing 16 years of race results and air pollution levels, a team of researchers at the Brown University School of Public Health found that poor air quality had a negative effect on marathon times.
IBES faculty members Allan Just and Elizabeth Fussell will play key roles in the Climate, Health and Aging Innovation and Research Solutions for Communities center.
Funding from the National Institute on Aging will enable Brown researchers, including IBES faculty members Allan Just and Elizabeth Fussell, to study the negative health effects of climate change and develop practical solutions that promote healthy aging.
IBES and Epidemiology Professor Allan Just is co-author on this paper, which asks: Do minoritized groups experience hotter summers than the area average, and do non-Hispanic white people experience cooler summers?
Associate IBES and Epidemiology Professor Allan Just co-authored this editorial accompanying a study that found daily and nighttime extreme heat exposure in the third trimester is associated with increased risks for preterm birth.
