
Jeanne Loewenstein
Biography
Jeanne has been with Brown’s Environmental Sciences and Studies program for 15 years, allowing her to provide a key role in the program’s significant growth. The intuitional knowledge she had developed during that time has served to benefit students, faculty and staff not only within IBES, but also other units on campus.
In her role as Academic Program Manager, Jeanne oversee all aspects of the Environmental Sciences and Studies (ENVS) undergraduate concentration. Her duties include keeping both students and faculty advisors appraised of requirements & updates, supporting the IBES Curriculum Committee, administering proposals & scheduling for ENVS courses, assisting with the declaration process & providing support in navigating ASK, guiding and coordinating with the Undergraduate Peer Advisors, contributing to the Student Hub and weekly Student Bulletin, and aiding in student professional development through assisting in the administration of such programs IBES Summer Internships & Voss Fellowships.
It is extremely gratifying to assist students, faculty and staff who are striving to solve environmental issues on both the local and global scale. I am so inspired by Environmental Sciences & Studies concentrators' exhaustive commitment to tackling the climate crisis and the support they provide each other in finding and implementing solutions. - Jeanne Loewenstein
