American Studies

My research considers the constructed environments and contested subject formations that take shape under liberal racial capitalism. I focus on U.S. and global urban space (industrialization to the present) through a critical cultural studies prism, joining critical theory with textual, visual and aesthetic, and historical analysis. I am particularly interested in the cultural strategies and histories that have situated modern ideas of the human subject within U.S. urban environments.
