Biography
In one project, Michael Neubauer will analyze pollution externalities in the context of shrimp farming in the Mekong Delta area of Vietnam. Intensive shrimp farms, which have been growing rapidly in the region over the past decade, pollute the waterways from which traditional shrimp farmers draw water for their shrimp farms. Though many suspect this pollution is harming the livelihoods of the traditional shrimp farmers, the extent of the harm has not been rigorously quantified; working with his local research partner, David intends to quantify this externality.
