Rocky Douglas
Sociology
Biography
Rocky is currently thinking about and researching ways that various forms of colonization have shaped our relationships with and understandings of nature on a global scale--understandings that are a direct violation of a variety of Indigenous and African cosmologies. She's also thinking about ways that current issues surrounding gentrification, climate change, food access, pollution, and ecological extinction all stem from this original violation. In addition, Rocky is thinking about the rain being polluted as much as she thinks about the ways that Black and Brown folks are continuing to find healing, resistance, sovereignty, and frustration in their fraught relationships with the land.
