
Sofia Kassalow '26
Biography
Sofia Kassalow is a senior from New York City concentrating in Environmental Sciences & Studies on the Conservation Science and Natural Systems track. As a pre-veterinary student interested in wildlife medicine, she has developed a passion for human-wildlife coexistence. Interning for the NGO Wilderness Foundation Africa, Sofia has been involved in environmental education, fundraising, rhino conservation, and habitat restoration projects in South Africa. She is also an intern at various animal hospitals, working with all creatures great and small. At Brown, Sofia is a Curation Team Lead at TEDxBrownU and Voss Fellow in the Kartzinel Lab. Her Voss research in mammalian parasitology aims to improve genomic identification methods of worms infecting tropical wildlife.
