Anthropology and Archaeology

My research investigates how political realignments, interracial solidarities, and white political subjectivities are being molded by, and remolding, the shifting stage of American agrarianism. When disruptions occur in A) the status quo of how the food system is built to subsidize profits through land and bodies of color, and B) that food system’s larger situation within the ecology of a warming planet, what solidarities and subjectivities across lines of race, citizenship, and economic power might form? My interests bridge environmental anthropology, critical food and labor studies, STS, political ecology, and critical race studies.
