Vivien Chen is a PhD student working with Dr. Meredith Hastings in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences. She is working on the Breathe Providence project, which conducts hyperlocal air monitoring at the neighborhood scale to understand the drivers and impacts of air quality. Through this, Vivien strives to develop an interdisciplinary project encompassing her research interests in air quality, public health, and environmental justice.
