Biography

Xiaokang (Harold) is a senior from Weihai, China, double concentrating in Environmental Science and Applied Math-Economics (Advanced Economics Track). He studied abroad at the University of Cape Town in South Africa during the Spring of 2024. On campus, he serves as a research assistant for the Climate and Development Lab (CDL) and is a member of Sunrise@Brown. He also directed the Sustainability Panel at the Brown China Summit for two years. Beyond campus, Harold has been actively involved in climate action through various channels. He has worked with environmental NGOs in China and Indonesia, and interned at think tanks in DC, and Tokyo. Harold was also a COP 27 Youth Delegate and an active volunteer with YOUNGO. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, meditating, photography, and making tea.
