I'm interested in using the biogeochemistry of the geologic record to understand how the Earth's climate system and environments have evolved over time and responded to past disturbances. Specifically, I'm interested in the past dynamics of temperature, carbon dioxide, and ocean chemistry in order to better understand and predict the effects of anthropogenic climate change we're experiencing today and in the future. My current project involves constructing numerical models to understand how changes in tectonic forcings interacted with seawater chemistry, the carbon cycle, and global climate about 15 million years ago.
